Instructor-In-Training Sailing Camp (ages 14–17, sailing experience required) enrolls campers in the U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification course, taught by certified instructors. Includes safety, boat orientation, on-the-water instruction, classroom lessons, and test prep. Successful students earn U.S. Basic Keelboat certification and may volunteer/intern toward becoming instructors. June 29–July 31 | $525 Members / $575 Non-Members | 9AM–3PM. Maritime Explorers is a summer camp for ages 8–12, running June 29–August 14 at Nauticus!
Campers explore the campus through hands-on STEM activities aboard Harbor 20 sailboats, the Schooner Virginia, the Battleship Wisconsin, and in our reimagined discovery center.
NEW: An optional overnight aboard the Battleship Wisconsin on the final Friday is included; family may join for a small fee.

Sponsored Nauticus Sail Voyagers camp for ages 11-14
Sail Voyagers is a water-based summer camp for ages 11–14 (rising 6th–9th graders). Campers build advanced sailing skills while exploring the Elizabeth River and its tributaries aboard Harbor 20 sailboats, the Schooner Virginia, and other watercraft—discovering Norfolk and Portsmouth by water. With a 3:1 staff-to-student ratio, it’s a hands-on experience. Sailing experience or prior Maritime Explorers participation recommended.
