Girl Scout Summer Camp

May 11, 2026

Hello, summer! Let’s go to camp!

Every kid’s favorite time of year is here, and spending a part of their vacation at camp can keep the fun — and learning — going strong. Over and above just keeping them busy, summer camp comes with some invaluable benefits, especially for girls.

Make New Friends

There’s nothing quite like giggling over games in the bunk or singing songs with new besties around a campfire. Having a diverse group of friends, not just kids your camper knows from school, will broaden their horizons and help them see their own worth, too.

Tech Free Zone

Getting out in nature, soaking up the sun, or dashing inside during a sudden downpour is way more exciting than any app can be. Unplugging for a while will keep campers more present and truly enjoying every moment instead of simply watching it from a screen.

Time to Play

Playtime is anything but a waste of time. In fact, studies show that play allows the neurons in a child’s brain to form new connections — and that this rewiring helps boost emotional intelligence, decision-making skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

Grow Grit

The truth is, campers might scrape a knee or elbow while they’re away—and that’s a good thing! They’ll learn to get back up after minor setbacks, like scrapes and bumps, they’ll build resilience and learn that they are a lot tougher than they think.

Gain Independence

Being away from home might be a bit intimidating to both your camper and you. But having that time away

to explore and try activities builds self-reliance.

Leadership Skill-building

In an all-girl nurturing and encouraging environment, campers are more comfortable trying new outdoor activities and taking the lead.

Something for Every Girl

There are plenty of options at Girl Scout camp to meet everyone’s interests, including swimming, hiking, archery, canoeing, nature crafts, and so much more. Day camp programs are perfect for younger girls or first-time campers to experience the fun of camp without staying overnight. Our overnight camps are multi-day experiences offered at Camp Skimino located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

You don't need to be a Girl Scout to sign up; our camps are open to all girls. But don’t wait to secure your camp session, registration is only open through June 1, 2026! View all our offerings and register online at gsccc.org/camp today.
